Why I started this blog.
I’ve started many blogs over time. This is probably going to be the most personal blog I’ve done (although the one I started for my photography business is fairly personal). Without getting too much into why I am writing, here are some of the reasons I decided to start this blog before I’ve even finished my first book.
Public Humiliation
Hopefully not actually humiliation, but I hope to force myself to continue the writing process. To the end if it kills me. Or kills my characters.
I’ve already gotten some encouragement by telling a few friends. More importantly, the expectation that they are going to ask “How is the book coming?” pushes me over the edge of laziness.
I’m hoping that those of you who find this blog will also help give me a push.
Advice From The Peanut Gallery
I’m going to have to see where that label came from.
Anyways, not that anyone reading this a a peanut, but I know I am going to need help. I am no great English scholar. I don’t have a history in the publishing industry. Honestly, I am scared to death I’m not even using quotation marks right in the story right now.
When I’m stumped and post about it, I hope someone can guide me.
I Don’t Want To Read Alone
I want someone to read this monstrosity when it is done. Actually, I want a lot of people to read it.
This blog is here to get you interested in my book. Find out about me. Find out what I am going through to finish it. Decide if you might want to read it. Find out when it is finished.
Subscribe and you’ll be able to keep up and I am planning to give current subscribers a digital copy of the book when it is released.
Thanks,
James
